Trey Berre, Managing Director & Global Head of Data Services, CME Group

Trey Berre serves as Managing Director and Global Head of Data Services at CME Group, the world’s leading derivatives marketplace. In this role, he is responsible for the strategic direction and oversight of CME Group’s comprehensive suite of financial market data products, advanced analytics, global distribution services and Benchmark Administration. 

An industry leader at the intersection of capital markets and technology, Trey is deeply focused on the evolution of financial data. He plays a critical role in democratizing data access for both institutional and retail traders, spearheading initiatives that leverage cloud technologies—such as Google Cloud—to deliver real-time data, complex analytics, and the high-fidelity inputs required for today’s algorithmic and AI-driven trading strategies.

Trey brings a uniquely diverse background to his current leadership position. Prior to stepping into this role, he served in several key capacities within CME Group, including Head of Derived Data Licensing, Head of Operations and Chief of Staff to the President, and internal counsel within the Market Regulation Division. 

Before entering the financial sector in 2010, Trey built a distinguished legal career in the public sector. He served as an Assistant State’s Attorney for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, prosecuting felony criminal matters, and later acted as the lead defense attorney for Cook County in federal civil rights cases.

Trey holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Butler University, where he majored in psychology, and a Juris Doctor from the DePaul University College of Law.
