Ed Flynn

Ed Flynn currently serves as the Retail Investor Advisor to the US Exchange CT Plan and continues to actively provide market data training services for the FISD FIA Certification program.

Ed has been active with FISD since 1997 and served on the Executive Committee for 18 years, Co-Chaired the Consumer Constituent Group for 11 years and has been a speaker, panelist, or moderator in over 28 FISD events and over 58 speaking engagements across the industry. He has additionally served in multiple advisory roles, including as an Advisor to the CTA/UTP Plan for 13 years.

Though out his career, Ed has focused on providing a knowledge transfer to the next generation of market data executives ranging from authoring the markets segment of the FIA course syllabus, creating online video market data training course materials and instruction, in person market data training, negotiations training, as well as mentoring junior colleagues and participating in FISD’s Rising Stars program to support the development of market data executives.

His professional background includes working as a vendor, a buy side market data manager, institutional brokerage, retail online investing, wealth management, market maker, and hedge fund, aside from Flynndex market data training services.

Initially, Ed served as a product manager and account manager at Interactive Data Corp, then Moodys Investors Service. From there, as a Director at Fidelity Investments, Executive Director and Global Head of Exchanges at Morgan Stanley, Managing Director and Head of Market Data at TD Ameritrade. Most recently Ed managed the global exchange relationships for Citadel Enterprise Americas.

When not engaged with market data, Ed is otherwise retired, spending his time gardening, woodworking, and sailing, and currently holds a U.S. Coast Guard 100 Ton Master Captain License with a Sail Endorsement.
