Nigel Phelan, Chief Architect-Market Data Services, JP Morgan Chase

Nigel Phelan has been working in the capital markets industry for about thirty years and in market data for nearly twenty. He currently works as the Chief Architect for the Market Data Services team at JP Morgan Chase, where he is responsible for architectural and strategy decisions related to a portfolio of around 100 applications. His career started as a system administrator / system programmer before specialising in middleware and security products. For most of this period he was employed by JP Morgan Chase, apart from a ten year period working for Accenture in their capital markets and government business lines. Over the years he has written software, tested multiple vendor packaged solutions, designed complex messaging architectures, integrated multiple systems and worked as a service delivery manager for mission critical application messaging services. Nigel holds a PhD in the field of computer aided engineering awarded by the University of Bath, and is a Chartered Engineer (MBCS, CEng)
